What Motivates Us

We wanted to take the time to let you get to know Sweet Blossom Gifts better, and what motivates us to do what we do.

We began in 2012 with a simple mission, which was to help hard-working women artists market their goods. We quickly found that customers loved the handmade pieces that we were offering and the attention to detail and care that goes into the making of each and every item that we sell. We were so happy that Sweet Blossom Gifts had become a “win” for the artists, as well as a “win” for our customers.

We reached a point in our business that we realized that we wanted to not only support our wonderful artists here in the U.S. that create each beautiful piece, but we wanted to support women in other places who may have less opportunities than we have as well. We partnered with Seed Programs International to form the Women’s Empowerment Initiative. From every purchase through Sweet Blossom Gifts, we donate money that is then sent to developing countries for education and to purchase seeds for women to grow their own food and provide for their children. They are also given the tools and training on how to grow the food, harvest and even market it. It is truly empowering for these women to be able to care for themselves and their families, as well as work together as women to market their produce. Providing a way to grow their own food is a cause that is very dear to our hearts, because we come from a background in organic vegetable farming, and know the importance of being able to provide for your family in this way.

Mayor Christine Norman, Naima from SPI, my daughters and I

We had the wonderful opportunity to host the mayor of Bentol, Liberia. Christine Norman (pictured above with my daughters, myself, and Naima from SPI), told us about the opportunities that the Women’s Empowerment Initiative had created for the women where she lives. We were so happy to know from someone who lives among and knows these families personally, that the money donated from each purchase is actually making a difference for these women and children.

Thank you for choosing to join us on this journey, as we strive to improve the lives of women around the world, one piece of meaningful handmade jewelry at a time!

Our jewelry is truly handmade by amazing artists
